Marketplace Train-the-Trainers Workshops

To help current and new Marketplace adopters take full advantage of simulations in the classroom, ILS holds a free training seminar for the university instructors twice a year.

Dr. Cadotte explains his teaching methods for simulation-based courses to the instructors during a Train-The-Trainers workshop at ILS.

The objective of this seminar is to provide the instructors with an in-depth understanding of the Marketplace simulator, as well as ideas on how it can be most effectively built into the marketing or business course.

We discuss various learning strategies and tactics that have proven successful with other faculty. The workshop also allows you to share ideas and experience with other educators.

Participant Obakeng Senokwane traveled from South Africa to participate in the Train-the-Trainers workshop.

As a vehicle for tying the workshop together, participants play several decision rounds in our most complex simulation exercise. At strategic points along the way, we pause and discuss the pedagogical options available to instructors and the pros and cons of each.

Dr. Cadotte (the author of Marketplace) leads the seminar, with the help of the Marketplace development and support team.
